Botchan was first published in Japanese way back in 1906.It was written by Natsume Soseki who is widely regarded as the best modern (i.e post 1868) Japanese prose writer. As well as novels he also wrote essays, literary criticism pieces and composed traditional haiku and poetry.

Botchan is one of his earlier works and reflects his experiences as a secondary school teacher in Shikoku and Kyushu.
The leading character of the book Botchan is used as a vehicle by the author to poke fun at various institutions and parts of Japanese society as well as individual human foibles and failings. One doesn't have to be Japanese to identify with the urban/rural distinctions he draws such as the perceived backwardness of small towns versus the modernity of cities like Tokyo.

The Lake House

saya sedang bingung saat itu..
aneh..
jarang saya bisa bingung saat ada di rumah..
saat2 saya biasanya bingung mah,,kalo lagi ujian ato ngerjain tugas..
iya..
ini sekarang saya bingung..
bingung mo ngapain pada saat itu..
ah, akhirnya saya putuskan untuk nonton pelem..
pelem apa??
lalu saya bingung lagi..
luarbiasa.. hari itu penuh dgn kebingungan..

akhirnya, pilihan pelem yg mo ditonton jatuh ke sebuah pelem yg lumayan lama,, keluaran tahun 2006..
judulnya "The Lake House",, dgn pemain Sandra Bullock dan si matrix,, Keanu Reeves..

buat saya ini pelem romantis bagus..
benar.. bagus..
saya jadi penasaran sama pelem Korea yg katanya jadi inspirasi buat pelem ini..
plot cerita The Lake House nya bisa dibaca di sini yah..

oke..
hal yg dapat saya tangkap dari pelem ini adalah bagaimana seseorang itu dpt menentukan jalan hidupnya..
liat,,bagaimana kedua pemeran utama dlm pelem ini berusaha bersama walau mereka itu hidup di tahun yg berbeda (selisih 2 tahun,,satu di tahun 2004, satunya di 2006)..
maksudnya..
okelah,, Tuhan memang sdh menentukan apa yg akan kita jalani,, tapi masa setelah tahu itu kita jadi pasif??
kita masih dpat mengusahakan apa yg akan terjadi kepada kita..
ini jadi pemicu semangat buat kita..

satu lagi,,saya suka lagunya Paul McCartney yg jadi salah satu soundtrack buat pelem ini..
lagu ini muncul pas si Alex sama si Kate dansa di ulang tahunnya Kate..
oh ni lagu juga ada pas bagian paling akhir..
pas credit-title pelem muncul..
buat saya,, lirik lagu ini mampu mengungkap isi utama pelem ini..

oh,,karena saya baru nonton pelem Four Weddings and a Funeral,, yang menurut saya pelem romantis yg bagus,, ada baiknya saya post sebuah puisi yg ada di pelem itu..
puisi yg dibacakan saat pemakaman..
